Masai Mara Tours and Lodges
Masai Mara Tours and Lodges, The Masai Mara is one of the best known places in Africa to go on safari. It is home to some of the most wildlife on Earth, along with the Serengeti, and is where the Great Migration takes place.
A lot of people think of the Masai Mara first when they think of an African tour, which is a good thing.
The Masai Mara is known for its vast savannahs full of up to two million wildebeest and the animals that hunt them. The Masai Mara National Reserve is part of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which covers 25,000 km2 and shares fenceless borders with several private conservancies and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.
In the reserve and the conservancies, there are many cabins and camps that offer a taste of the “Mara.” Here are some of the packages we suggest that will show you some of Kenya’s best safari places, such as the Masai Mara.
How to get there
It takes about 270 kilometers to get to the Masai Mara National Reserve from Nairobi. By car, the trip might take six hours.
Getting to the Mara area by plane
Wilson Airport in Nairobi is where two scheduled planes leave every day. Safaris to the Mara can also be combined with safaris to other places in Kenya or from the coast, where flights run every day. Anyone can set up a private tour from anywhere.
Where to Stay in Masai Mara
Rekero Camp: This is a yearly tent camp set up above the Talek River. During the Great Migration, this is where you will see the most animals of any place on Earth. Traditional, beautiful safari tents are used as rooms. Maasai guides will take you on walking tours and game drives to show you the beauty of the area.
Serian Camp is one of only 10 camps in the Mara North Conservancy. It’s a great place to get away from the busyness of modern life and see Africa at its most natural. It’s great for families of all ages, and it’s open all year to show off the magic of the Mara.
This camp is in its own lease on the edge of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. It is called Cottar’s 1920s Camp. It takes you on a journey in the style of “Out of Africa” from a long time ago. The tents that people stay in are very nice and have private bathrooms. A diving pool and spa area make it a great place to cool off after a morning of seeing wild animals.
The Govenors Il Moran camp is perfect for couples who want a little extra comfort. It is small and cozy, making it the perfect place for a romantic safari. Tents are set up along the banks of the Mara River, under the shade of old trees.
The weather
Because it is between 4000 and 7000 feet above sea level, the Masai Mara has a mild climate with little change in temperature. The hottest part of the day is about 30° C (85°F), and the coolest part of the night can get down to about 15°C (60°F). From March to May, it rains the most, and from November to December, it rains for a short time again.
When it rains, the park roads can be hard to get around on. During the dry season, animals are more likely to be near water sources. The weather is usually dry and the plants are full of life from July to October. This is the busiest time for tourists and the best time to see the Park’s animals.
