You can make your days at Ol Malo Lodge as busy or as relaxing as you like. Along with game drives, bush walks, swimming, and taking in the beautiful views, Ol Malo offers a variety of other things for guests of all ages. While on your Kenya tour, you can do a lot of fun things at Ol Malo Lodge.

Rides on camels

You can ride Ol Malo’s camels across the fields or around the village. It’s a fun way to spend a Kenya safari.

Safari on horseback

Ol Malo’s ponies are great with both kids and adults, and riding one of them is the best way to see the real Kenyan bush. You can see more wildlife when you ride out onto the fields or down to the river.

Village Visits in Samburu

A visit to the friendly neighbors at Samburu “manyatta” gives visitors a look into the colorful and unchanged Samburu culture. You can meet the Samburu kids that live there, go to their school, paint, learn native dancing, and make things out of beads while you’re there. People can also learn how to fish with spears and try their hand at throwing spears.

With a guide

Africa is about more than just the “Big Five.” It’s also about the “Little Five.” The guides are very good at finding interesting little things like spiders, bugs, harvester ants, flowers, and plants. This makes for a unique Kenya tour.

A Night Under the Stars

For those who like to try new things and leave the safety of Ol Malo, why not spend the night outside under the stars? You can learn about the stars in the African sky, listen to stories told by locals around a roaring campfire, and fall asleep to the sounds of the wild. Don’t miss this chance.

Rides on camels

You can walk or ride a camel early in the morning to a good spot for a unique bush meal from Ol Malo Lodge.

Heli flights with beautiful views

There are two Raven R44 helicopters at Ol Malo, and each can hold three people for an hour-long scenic flight, a breakfast picnic flight, a flight at sunset, or a full-day trip. You have to make a reservation ahead of time (for an extra fee).

Stay the night in the Ol Malo Treehouse

Animals of all kinds come to this great hut that is right next to a watering hole. There will be drinks and dinner outside under the stars. Plush beds make it a fun place to spend the night, and you never know who might wake you up in the morning.

Mountain bike riding

The hilly land around Ol Malo is great for people who like to ride mountain bikes. Every day, guests can use the bikes, and based on how much experience they have, they will be shown the best routes.

Seeing animals

The fact that game is wild and not used to people makes tracking them on foot, by 4WD car, camel, or horse even more exciting on a Kenya safari.

Safari for Kids

Each child will get a gift pack when they get to Ol Malo Lodge. This will have a journal about the trip, a small gift, and postcards to send to friends. The safari notebook can be used to name the plants, animals, birds, and insects that they saw on their trip to Kenya. Then Rocky and Colin Francombe, or Nderi, will sign it. It’s a great book to show friends when they get back home, and it will remind them of their great Kenya trip at Ol Malo.
